Subject: Fun Time Boat Rental is horrible!
Comment: My husband called FunTime Boat Rentals to inquire about a boat rental for our vacation. On 7/11/09, FunTime Boat Rentals emailed us back a contract stating that we reserved a 26ft. Tritoon 190HP for a total of $269.63 (including tax). My husband signed the contract, scanned it, and emailed it back to FunTime Boat Rentals that week.
On 8/8/09 we arrived at FunTime Boat Rentals to pick up the boat, as defined in the contract. The owner, Bob Ballard, said that there was an electrical storm and he didn't receive the email and he already rented out all his Tritoons for the day. He offered to rent us a subpar speedboat (it looked very beat up) for the same price or we could pay $400 for deck boat. I said, "Since we signed and emailed you the contract, and it's not our fault you didn't receive it, I think it's fair that you rent us the deck boat for the $269.63 that we originally agreed to pay." He said " I know it's fair, but I'm not going to do that. I'll have another person come in willing to pay full price after you leave." I said, "Well you could have called us to let us know you didn't receive the contract that we emailed you." He went on to say that he didn't know what happened to our original paperwork and he just had to fire a girl last week for stealing. Then he said, "Why am I even talking to you anyway?! You're name's not on the contract! Who are you?!"I said, "I'm his wife." He looked at my husband and said, "Well, I feel sorry for you!" I was shocked and said, "How dare you!" Then my husband and I didn't say another word and just walked out. We drove down the street and rented a boat from Arizona Waters. Arizona Water Sports was very accommodating and professional. Bob Ballard of FunTime Boat Rentals was insulting and unprofessional, to say the least. If you value your professionalism and like to be treated with respect, I would recommend you NOT go to FunTime Boat Rentals.
